Where to stay in and around Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Ft. Lauderdale Hotel List – Location, Location, Location!

3 ½ star – Riverside Hotel – Right on Las Olas Blvd. in the heart of all the shops and restaurants. The Executive Tower Rooms have been newly renovated, Water Taxi’s / Water Bus stop here & about two miles to the beach.

4 star – The Pillars at New River Sound – Pass Las Olas Blvd., the next traffic light will be Sebastian Street, make a u-turn at Sebastian St. and take the first right on (the actual Sebastian St.) go one block and the Pillars will be across the street on your left at the stop sign.  Beautiful accommodations!  Water Taxi’s / Water Bus stop here & about two miles to the beach.

3 star – Sheraton Yankee Clipper Beach Resort – Located on the beach, on A1A, just a mile North of the 17^th St. Bridge, south of the 842 Las Olas Blvd.  Average rooms, very thematic look, kind of Brady Bunch goes to Hawaii but this theme is "clipper ship".

4 star – Renaissance Ft. Lauderdale Hotel – Right on the A1A, just before the 17^th St. Bridge with lovely accommodations, nice pool, walk to dinner, bagels, French bakery, the marina, etc. About a mile to the beach.

4 star – Hyatt Regency Pier 66 – Right on A1A, just over the 17^th St. Bridge. Beautiful pool and lovely comfortable rooms. About a mile to the beach.

4 star – Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa – Located on the A1A, south of the 842 Las Olas Blvd., just a mile or two North of the 17^th St. Bridge. Lovely pool, comfortable rooms & right at the beach! 

3 ½ star – Marriott Ft. Lauderdale Marina - Right on A1A, just before the 17^th St. Bridge. Rooms were very no frills, nice pool, good location for walking to dinner, bagels, French Bakery, the marina, etc. About a mile to the beach. 

3 star – Bahia Mar Beach Resort & Yachting Center (not to be confused with the horrible Bahia Beach Hotel) – Located on the A1A, south of the 842 Las Olas Blvd. Average rooms, ugly pool, marina setting with walk bridge to the beach – best location for the Ft. Lauderdale boat show.

3 star – Ft. Lauderdale Oceanfront Hotel – on the back A1A Sea breeze Blvd., south of the 842 Las Olas Blvd. – ugly rooms, ugly pool. Hurricane Wilma closed this property, so they might be more attractive when they re-open.

Dania, FL (airport hotels)

3 ½ star – Sheraton Ft. Lauderdale Airport – comfortable contemporary rooms, average pool.

3 star – Courtyard by Marriott Ft. Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port – actually Dania Beach, FL – rooms look modern and renovated no pool.

3 ½ star – Marriott’s Beach Place Towers (this is a vacation village time share property right on the A1A about 3 blocks past the 842 Las Olas Blvd. Rooms look comfortable however the décor is a bit kinky.  

3 star – Sheraton Yankee Trader Beach Resort – located North on the A1A, 9 blocks past the 842 Las Olas Blvd. and 11 blocks before the 838 E. Sunrise Blvd. On the beach, Average rooms, large no frills pool, fabulous beach –

2 star – Avalon Waterfront Inns – Guest Suite room only! – Located North, on the A1A located 12 blocks past the 842 Las Olas Blvd. before the 838 E. Sunrise Blvd.

4 Star – The Atlantic – Located North – beautiful hotel on the beach, located on the A1A, 15 blocks past the 842 (Las Olas Blvd.) almost to the 838 E. Sunrise Blvd. Elegant rooms, small pool.

3 stars – Doubletree Guest Suites – Located North, on the 838 E. Sunrise Blvd. between the 1 / 5 and the A1A. Rooms look comfortable and hotel is located on the waterway, adjacent to the Galleria Mall and 1 mile from the beach.

3 ½ stars – Pelican Beach Resort – Located North – beautiful hotel on A1A, well past the 842 Las Olas Blvd., past the 838 E. Sunrise Blvd., just after Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, halfway to Lauderdale by the Sea. Though this on is before the 816 NE 31^st. St.

2 star – Ocean Manor Resort Hotel – Located North, on the beach on the A1A, Past the 842 Las Olas Blvd., past the 838 E. Sunrise Blvd., past the 816 almost in Lauderdale by the Sea.

3 ½ star – The Westin Ft. Lauderdale – located North West between the I95 and the 811 N. Dixie Hwy off of NE 62^nd St. set in a corporate park. NE 62^nd St. runs E & W with a direct shot to Hwy 1 / 5

Hollywood

3 ½ Star – Marriott Hollywood Beach – On the A1A, South of Dania and the Ft. Lauderdale Airport and city this new beach hotel opened in June, 2005. Beautiful rooms and setting, 12 miles from the 842 Las Olas Blvd. This location is not a bad commute into Ft. Lauderdale as it is located north of the 858 and North of the 820 Hollywood Blvd., but South of the 822 SE 16^th St.

4 star – The Westin Diplomat – On the A1A S. Ocean Dr., further south toward Aventura, FL, North of the 858. This is a beautiful, modern oceanfront high-rise convention hotel.
