Marlo's New Gig!

Great news! Marlo has a roll in "A Christmas Carol" this December. She auditioned on Saturday, was given a call back for another go on Sunday and began rehearsals with the very large cast of 55 people yesterday! This is a mixed cast of 40% adults and 60% children. The rolls for children with speaking parts were EXTREMELY limited and Marlo IS one of those limited parts! She was "at first" disappointed to learn her roll only has 4 scenes, but once she realized very few children were saying anything at all - she perked up. In addition to the 4 scenes, she has some solo singing as well as ensemble parts, dancing and group singing. It should prove to be an extraordinary experience for her and is her first part with a cast of both adults and child peers.

Her roll? She is the "Boy who sings." He is the peasant boy who follows Scrooge down the street singing a Christmas carol hoping to receive a few bits....when he receives nothing, he begs Scrooge for some money so that he will not go hungry. We all know how Scrooge answered this plea....later after Scrooge has his epiphany, this is the same boy who Scrooge hollers to out the window, asking "What day is it today?'' When the boy replies that it is Christmas, Scrooge sends him to purchase the large goose for the Cratchit family and so on and so forth ...Marlo is that boy.

We are all very excited for her!
